Dialogue[]

<Explorer>'s exploratory mission enters a disturbed plain broken by a great fault in the earth. Tales older than Berenstead recall it as the home of an outcast deity, Uldak, the Thirsty Earth. The explorers' minds fill with its legendary plaint: "I am parched, and must drink the life of a human to revive myself. In exchange for this sacrifice, I will produce 30 cows."
  1. Get out of there.
  2. Determine if Chaos is present.
  3. Murder one of your escort and throw the body in the pit.

Six Ages 2: Lights Going Out

Consequences[]

If you get out of there, your people may wonder why the explorer went all the way out there only to leave as soon as they laid eyes on the place. Mood may go down.

If you try and determine if Chaos is present, you may not find any, as Uldak is an outcast for a reason, but he is not of Chaos. Alternatively, you may find out that, while not originally so, he has indeed become corrupted by Chaos recently. This will unlock two further options:

  1. Call on Urox to scourge Uldak with searing winds. Does not require a sacrifice. If successful, Uldak's earth will crack and scream, and the grip of Chaos on the land will be lessened.
  2. Warn nearby clans that Uldak has turned to Chaos.

If you murder one of your escort and throw the body in the pit, then 30 strange cows will emerge from the pit. Besides the -1 population and +30 cows, your mood is likely to go down, and more clans in the valley will both fear and hate you.

Notes[]

This event is similar to Visit Uldak event from Ride Like the Wind.

Advice[]

  • "Not sure why, but murder makes sense right now."
  • "If this already bad god has been corrupted to Chaos, I will sense it."
  • "Uldak, banished by his father Yelm and his wife Oria, is the god of warped, consuming earth."
