Dialogue[]
“ | No longer a boy, <Prince/King> Venef has impressed clan nobles with his thoughtful nature and keen appreciation of the difficult choices Berenstead confronts. <He’s also a shrewd bargainer./He also shows great aptitude with a sword./He deals comfortably with outsiders./He has a way with horses./He seems to be a born leader./In addition, he has been a keen scholar of clan lore./The god-talkers say he is already a powerful magician.>. Some say he should be elevated to the ring immediately. <Volunteer> volunteers to step down to make room for him. Others worry that too much attention to the prince will revive interest in the hopeless cause of tribal renewal.

Consequences[]
At this point, Venef is 15 years old. His skills are random, but unlikely to be exceptional at this point of his life. You won't be able to check them until afterwards, but the event text does mention what he's best at.
If you choose to elevate him to the ring, then the clan's mood may decrease, as some of the clan think he is too young for the post. If you already have a full circle, one pre-existing member will have to step down to make room for Venef.
If you choose to make him chieftain it may lift the clan mood, provided the royalist faction is popular. If you already have a full circle, any potential volunteer will step down from the ring and their post will be filled by the former chieftain.
If you say "He will make a fine ring member, one day,” then the royalist faction may be displeased that room is not made for Venef right away, potentially lowering Mood. Alternatively, if the realist faction is dominant, the people may say it is right to let him prove himself first, as he is just fifteen; if so, Mood rises instead.
