Uralda is the cow goddess of the Rams, counterpart to Busenari in the solar pantheon. Her mother is the earth goddess Ernalda, and her husband is the bull god Urox.
Ride Like the Wind[]
You may hear the following rumor some time during Ride Like the Wind:
“ | The <Known for their many cows> clan, who have more luck with cows than any of their fellow Rams, just went to the Gods War. In its tumult their champion performed daring deeds to protect their cow goddess. She returned to their ritual grounds with fifty of their shaggy longhorns. | ” |
Myths & Rituals[]
Uralda makes a brief appearance in the endgame ritual Rivalry between warlords, and one of the possible rewards of its completion is a blessing from her.
Lights Going Out[]
In Lights Going Out's clan creation, if you did not import a save from Ride Like the Wind, it is possible to choose for your people to have supported Uralda with the Milk Gift, when it was originally Busenari in Ride Like the Wind. This perhaps hints to some level of syncretization between the two for your clan.
Worship[]
In Lights Going Out, you can build a shrine or a temple to Uralda. She offers the same blessings that Busenari did in the Storm Age:
- Calf Blessing: Increases the fertility of our cows.
- Cattle Ward: Protects our cattle herd from raids and predators.
- Milk Blessing: Increases the yield of our cows.
She also offered the Calf Blessing and Milk Blessing in King of Dragon Pass.
On the Ring[]
Much like her solar counterpart, putting a worshiper of Uralda on the ring allows a clan to put more magic into Herds during Sacred Time.
All members of Uralda's cult are female. In the noble selection screens, her worshipers are marked with the Cow rune.
Lore[]
Your clan ring may say the following of Uralda:
- "Urox couples with Minotaur Mother and Winged Bull Mother but always comes home to Uralda."
- "The Cow Mother attended her mother’s wedding to Orlanth, although some say the hall was so crowded that she had to walk on two legs."
- "At the wedding of Ernalda and Orlanth, Issaries negotiated a trade deal between Uralda and Gustbran."
- "Urox mourns his dead wife, Uralda Cow Mother."
Myths & Rituals[]
Uralda has no rituals of her own in Lights Going Out, but she is one of the deities who can be contacted by traveling to a Gods War portal on the map; see Other Side: Uralda's Trust, the event starting her event-chain in the Otherworld.
