Shargash, Demon Sun of Alkoth, is a loyal son of Yelm, but an enemy to his brother, Elmal. Shargash is the killer of the storm god Umath, whose son, Orlanth, would later slay Yelm in retribution. His worshipers are the terrible and feared Alkothi demon-men.
He has had at least two wives, the Rice Wife and the River Wife—the Oslira River. After his father's death he wanted to marry the Earth Queen, Nyalda, as well, but she refused him.

Sometime through the game, you may hear the following rumor about Shargash:

If Dara Happans are your ancestral enemies, it will be Shargash who gives Hyalor his third and final killing wound—struck by the demon-god's mace—according to the myth Hyalor's Long Ride.
Shargash is also briefly mentioned in Reladivus's myth, Taming the River.

According to the myth Humakt Divides Life from Death, the part of Yelm "that was red" came back into the world as Shargash upon the shattering of the sword that slayed him.
