Six Ages Wiki

Dialogue[]

There have been unusual comings and goings at the village of the <Coordinating Ram>s, one of the closer Ram clans. It appears that many different Ram clans have sent emissaries. <Ram-hating noble> is convinced they are plotting <a joint attack/the formation of a kingdom>.
  1. “Rams come and go all the time.”
  2. Send an emissary.
  3. Send a spy.
  4. Perform a divination.

Six Ages: Ride Like the Wind

Consequences[]

In order to successfully send a spy, you should have the Understanding blessing from Ekarna. If you fail, the Rams will beat the spy up and steal their horse.

A divination can uncover what the Rams are up to.

If you don't find out what's going on, eventually you will hear that the Rams successfully performed a ritual:

The <Ram Killers> found out what was going on at the <Coordinating Ram> village. They were organizing an Otherworld ritual, where a number of clans reenacted the marriage of their storm god to their earth goddess. It was supposedly a big success, and the Ram clans all have bigger herds now. I imagine the <Coordinating Ram>s have raised their prestige, too.

The <Ram Killers> chief was worried that this sort of collaboration among the Rams of our valley might be a sign that they were making a kingdom, like southern Rams.

Six Ages: Ride Like the Wind

If you do find out, however, there seem to be two possibilities as to what is going on: the Rams may be holding a kite festival or a mass Otherworld ritual, "The Wooing of Ernalda", in which the storm god Orlanth courts his future wife. Each provides you with different options.

Advice[]

  • "Of course they're plotting against us!" - Ram-hating circle member
  • "Our magic makes a divination easier." - Magician
  • "We are vulnerable if they are plotting a joint attack."
  • "I wonder if they are planning to form a kingdom."
  • "The Rams of the valley have no king, but other Rams do."
  • "Rams come. Rams go. We don't need to jump every time they do."
  • "Sneaking about is one of Raven's specialties." - Raven trickster

Follow-up Dialogue (Kite Festival)[]

Now that you know that the <Coordinating Ram> clan is holding a festival of kites, do you react?
  1. Hold a hawking competition.
  2. Let other Rider clans know.
  3. Disrupt it, with the aid of other Rider clans.
  4. Do nothing.

Follow-up Consequences (Kite Festival)[]

If you hold a hawking competition, you'll have to decide between prioritizing winning or improving relations with your guests. Unlike the regular Hawking Competition event, you'll be inviting only Riders, rather than Riders and Wheels. If you win the competition, Dostal will give you a Wilds bounty.

If the Rams hold their festival undisrupted, Vingkot will bless each of the participating clans with extra clan magic.

Follow-up Dialogue (Mass Ritual)[]

Now that you know that the <Coordinating Ram> clan is organizing a group ritual, what do you do?
  1. Attack their ritual, with the aid of other Rider clans.
  2. Disrupt their ritual on the Other Side, with the aid of other Rider clans.
  3. Begin preparation for an Otherworld ritual of your own.
  4. Do nothing.

Six Ages: Ride Like the Wind

Follow-up Consequences (Mass Ritual)[]

If the Rams' ritual goes according to plan, the Ram clans involved will all gain a substantial number of cows.

If you successfully thwart their ritual, the involved clans will fear you more.

Of course, if you're in a position to perform a ritual of your own this year, extra preparation never hurt anyone...

Follow-up Advice (Mass Ritual)[]

  • "Acting together, we can certainly disrupt this ritual with a raid. On the other hand, the Ram clans might act together to retaliate, and that could be a problem."
  • "Otherworld rituals have immense power in this world. We have to thwart them."
  • "Breaking up their joint ritual on the Other Side has the biggest ritual."
  • "Rams hold their rituals during storms, which will make our archers less useful during raids."
  • "The Rams seem to dislike goats. We may need to act to protect Uryarda from their ritual." - Goat-loving circle member
  • "They'll never know it was us, if we interfere on the Other Side."
  • "The people are worried what a Ram ritual might mean."

Notes[]

Interfering with the ritual, at least, can go badly--details needed.
