Dialogue[]
“ | No longer sure if they are in the divine realm or the mortal world, the questers find their path blocked by Pocharngo, the god of Primal Chaos. The god manifests as the all-devouring, caustic goop it generates. It oozes toward them. What does <Quester> choose to do? | ” |
— Six Ages 2: Lights Going Out |
Consequences[]
If you successfully burn it with the flame of Elmal, then fire will leap from the quester's sword (or bow, if the quester is an Osara worshiper), scorching Pocharngo, which will collapse into itself and allow the party to pass. A failure, however, means that Pocharngo will shrug off your quester's fire magic, and your quester will be aged several years before they escape.
If you successfully choose to scourge it with the hot wind of Urox, then the quester will bellow blistering air onto Primal Chaos, causing it to scream, blacken, and diminish in size. However, if you fail, Primal Chaos will swallow the quester's prayers before they reach Urox's ears. The quester may then barely escape with their life, demoralised. A particularly bad failure may instead result in the entire party being wiped out.
If Sereden or Serestev undoes it with a new understanding, he will find himself changed by the experience—to the discomfort of his clanmates. This is one way to unlock the "Illumination" achievement. If you fail, the quester will come to understand that Pocharngo wishes to devour them. And then it does.
If you sear it with your hope, and fail, your questers are forced to flee in seperate directions. When they reunite, they are all alive, but terribly drained.
