Dialogue[]
“ | <Quester>'s questers head toward a heaped dirt mound, redolent with power. There they encounter an unfamiliar goddess, called Remaining Earth. "The land hungers. The soil cries out for nourishment. What gift do you bear, wandering <son/daughter> of dead Ernalda?" | ” |
— Six Ages 2: Lights Going Out |
Consequences[]
If you choose "Grouse and hares", your quester may come across the preserve of Dostal, who accompanied them as they gathered game. Balurga will feed the dead animals to her earth mound, which will pulse and grow. Before she can reward your efforts, however, you disappear into another part of the Otherworld.
If you choose "Magic", then a mystical rain will water the mound, causing sprouts to grow out of it. Before Balurga, or "Remaining Earth", has a chance to reward you, your questers are swept into another part of the Gods War.
If you choose "A life", you will, in time, have to decide on which life.
If you choose "Cows, of course", your Uralda priests back home will sacrifice 20 cows to feed Balurga's earth mound. Before she has a chance to reward you, your questers will suddenly appear in another part of the Gods War.
Notes[]
Sometimes, the goddess here is identified by name: Balurga, an Earth goddess whose followers have been known to sacrifice humans to her.
