Osara, the Flame Sister, is the Hyaloring goddess of female warriors. She is Elmal's daughter and, as a warrior and a leader, she is the one who most resemble him out of his children. In stories of the exodus, Osara is continually rescuing her foolish brother Verlaro from the trouble he gets into, but their other brother, Samnal, is her hated rival. She was initially distant from her half-brother, Zarlen, but eventually accepted him. Her uncle Relandar respects her and Hyalor is her mentor. Nyalda is not Osara's mother but does not seem to resent her the way she did Zarlen, as Osara was born before Nyalda's marriage to Elmal. Her Ram counterpart is the goddess Vinga.
In Nivorah, she was the obedient goddess of daughters. When the Hyalorings and their gods left the city, Osara took on a new role as a warrior and leader, continuing to support her father but now also winning glory for herself. According to the myth Relandar's Ranking, Osara persuaded her uncle to allow women to hold leadership roles among the Hyalorings, which they could not do in the Golden City. Osara never married and she does not have blood descendants among the Riders, although she did adopt daughters.
In general, Osara represents the new roles women have been able to take on since leaving Nivorah, whether as warriors or leaders. She is also more directly related to fire than even Elmal himself and, by the time of the Chaos Age, has acquired a new role as a protector against bandits.
Worship[]
You can only build a shrine to Osara.
Osara has only one blessing:
- Firearrow: Helps our skirmishers.
The treasure the Singing String allows you to maintain a shrine to Osara with fewer worshipers.
On the Circle[]
Having a worshiper of Osara on the clan circle allows you to put one more point of magic into war during Sacred Time. Osara worshipers are all female warriors, well-suited to become warleaders or chiefs, as they tend to have high Combat and Leadership skills.
They are also capable of doing more different rituals than worshipers of any other god, since they can perform Elmal's ritual with the same bonuses as Elmal worshipers and are also able to perform all the rituals restricted to women. This means you have many options to increase an Osaran leader's skills.
In noble selection screens and on the clan circle, her worshipers' portraits are marked with the her own personal rune.

Myths and Rituals[]
Ride Like the Wind[]
Although Osara does not appear in the myth Elmal Guards the Sunpath, and also lacks her own playable ritual, her followers can perform the ritual Elmal Path Guardian with the same bonuses as Elmal worshipers.
Her main myth is Osara and Verlaro.
She also appears in Relandar's Ranking, Zarlen's First Wander, and Ekarna's Four Trades.
Lights Going Out[]
In Lights Going Out, she is the protagonist of the myth Osara the Warrior and she now has her own ritual of the same name. Hers is one of the few that your clan can still relatively safely enact, albeit in the mundane world and not by traveling into the Gods War.

Concept Art[]
Osara's unique rune was designed by Jan Pospíšil, and is a combination of a variant sun rune (used for her father Elmal in some other Glorantha materials) and a bow and arrow.
