These situations occur only when you are raided by the fearsome Alkothi demon-men.
Demonic Mouth of Hell[]
Dialogue[]
“ | The Alkothi warriors take up a chant. In a flash of crimson heat, a monstrous demon materializes. Walking on four stout legs, it is the size of five bulls combined. Its green scaly hide releases gelatinous gobbets of demonic perspiration. The monster opens an enormous, tusked maw, from which climb smaller, skeletal demons, who rush to engage your forces. <Hero> rides closest to it. What does <he/she> do?
|
” |
Consequences[]
Attacking the little demons is of little use. Other options can successfully end the threat, though.
If the hero is successful, he or she may gain skill at fighting monsters from this event.
Suddenly Heartless[]
Dialogue[]
“ | Unhorsed, <Hero> rises to <his/her> feet. An Alkothi demon-man, wreathed in crimson energy, stalks toward <him/her>. <Hero> slashes at him with <his/her> sword. Deftly avoiding it, the demon-warrior steps toward <Hero> to plunge his fist into <his/her> chest. He rips out <Hero>'s still-beating heart and holds it out for <him/her> to see. In <his/her> last moments, what does <Hero> do?
|
” |
Consequences[]
Calling on the gods is risky in the heat of battle, but the hero has little to lose here! Either can win the day, though only gentle Erissa can save the hero's life.
Your ancestors can sometimes both save the hero's life and drive off the Alkothi.
Stabbing the demon warrior can sometimes take down the hero's killer, but will not end the battle.
Three Demons Against One[]
Dialogue[]
“ | <Hero> finds <himself/herself> hemmed in on three sides by a trio of demon-men. Any of these opponents alone would put up a daunting fight. What does <he/she> do?
|
” |
Consequences[]
Notes[]
This can be considered an Alkothi variant of the general Heroic Combat scenario "Surrounded".
