Consequences[]
If your explorer successfully propitiates the wolf, it will uphold its end of the bargain by protecting your grain stores, which grants a Food bounty. It will not physically visit your lands.
Magic seems not to interest the wolf, as it has magical power in abundance.
Giving it a horse can work.
If you sing to it, but fail to impress the wolf, it will wander off.
