Golden Men

The Golden Men as depicted in Nyalda Marriage Maker.

The Golden Men were participants in the War of Many Suns. They may be connected to, or be the same as, the Small Suns.

Ride Like the Wind[]

They are mentioned occasionally in Six Ages: Ride Like The Wind, but little about them is revealed.

Golden men are among the troubles that may plague the Gar-Astin clan between your explorers' visits. They are also some of the beings your explorers can meet in Forosan, and may gift them for their opposition for the Forosilvuli, saying that solar peoples must stick together against those of storm.

Myths & Rituals[]

The Golden Men as depicted in Elmal Path Guardian.

In the myth of Nyalda's Bride Price, a single Golden Man asks Nyalda to marry him, saying "Enough of gods. Some day there will be only men. Become a woman, and be with me. For the joys of life are all the sweeter when they are finite and always at risk." Nyalda refuses him, and in the end he is one of the foes Elmal defeats to prove his worth as a protector.

In the playable ritual Nyalda Marriage Maker, the single Golden Man becomes a host of Golden Men, would-be Human Suns who wish Nyalda to marry their leader, Unos. Nyalda can describe them as "solar fragments", and if she gives them gold to leave her alone, they take it to make into more golden men. If she instead gives them a weapon, their leader Unos will use it to turn on a rival.

In Elmal Path Guardian, golden men attempt to strip the sunpath of its stones, taking the place of the Small Suns mentioned in Elmal Guards the Sunpath

Lore[]

The clan circle says:

  • "During the War of Many Suns, Busenari was sent as a hostage to the Golden Men. Elmal soon rescued her."

Lights Going Out[]

Events[]

Notice the crest of the sun shard's chest.

The man shaped sun-shard that the solar priests carry in the Lights Going Out event Sun Shard Offer bear a striking resemblance to the Golden Men, particularly the crest on its chest.

Lore[]

The clan ring has little to say of these would-be suns:

  • "When Elmal confronted the Golden Men, they were called the Small Suns."
