Dialogue[]
“ | A delegation from the <other clan> arrives at your gate to demand compensation for the death of their spirit-talker, <name>, at the hands of Prince Erenlanth. This is the first you’ve heard of this, but Erenlanth cheerfully admits that <Kerenna/Korestene> took him on a mission to slay <name>. “He communed not only with spirits but with wraiths,” <Kerenna/Korestene> says, “and thus deserved his fate. No compensation is due to his people.” | ” |

Consequences[]
- Granting them traditional compensation will always placate them. If you do not have enough goods, you will owe them a favor instead, and they may not be entirely happy about this though they will accept.
- Granting them half the usual compensation may be accepted. If so, one of your ring members will comment they may have already suspected their shaman was in fact a wraith-talker. Alternatively, the delegates may refuse and insist on receiving full compensation.
- If you tell them they should be thankful that they were saved from a wraith-talker, they may be affronted by first, but eventually reconsider after Erenlanth and Korenna/Korestene listed all the signs that the shaman had turned into a wraith-talker. While still displeased that Kerenna/Korestene had not asked their clan ring's permission for the slaying, they will drop their request for compensation and depart. Alternatively, they may remain unmoved and badmouth you to other clans, possibly lowering your reputation with them.
Notes[]
- This event will usually involve Korestene rather than Kerenna, as the latter is likely to be dead before the event triggers (unless she was very young at the start of the game and survives for a very long time or is magically rejuvenated).
