Dialogue[]

Grumbling increases among clan notables outside the ring. Berenstead has undergone many travails of late, leading to poor morale. Dresta proposes to address this by drumming for the Elk of Harmony. If this legendary creature can be lured to Berenstead, the people will again allow themselves a measure of hope. However, the rite will deplete our magic and tax bonds with clan spirits. It will take a good while to complete. This must be tried now; other times will not be favorable. "The benefit to the clan is still too great to pass up," Dresta argues.
  1. Agree.
  2. Ask her to try it, without taxing spirits.
  3. "Let the ring worry about such matters."
  4. "This is too costly, too risky."
  5. "We must earn trust with deeds, not tricks and magic."
