Dialogue[]

A great elk wanders onto your lands. Your hunters are about to kill it when it speaks to them, requesting a favor from your clan. “I come as emissary from the creatures of the wild,” it intones. If you are willing to forgo game hunting for a period of two years, it will grant you a blessing ensuring that the following four years of hunting will prove especially fruitful. “We have too few young now, and need sanctuary so that they will live to adulthood.”
  1. Agree.
  2. Broker a deal between the elk and another clan.
  3. Perform a ritual to repopulate your wildlands.
  4. Decline.
  5. Kill and eat the elk.
  6. Have your Antler shamans talk to the elk.

Six Ages: Ride Like the Wind

Consequences[]

If you agree, you will be asked whether or not you want to uphold your end of the bargain. If you do, you will indeed receive the hunting bounty promised.

If your Antler shamans approach the elk, it will run from them, which they consider a success. However, other shamans find this a little alarming...

If you perform a ritual to repopulate your wildlands, you must choose between calling on Dostal or spirits. A successful sacrifice may satisfy the elk without forgoing hunting for two years; Mood may improve.

Notes[]

Obviously, the Antlers only appear as an option if you have already experienced Antler Society: Initiation.

The Dark Age event Speaking Elk is similar, but not identical.
