Dialogue[]
“ | Exploring the mountains of Imther, <Explorer> and company find little beyond desolation and an eerie quiet. After much trekking through trails and switchbacks they come across a crackling black cube. As they approach it, they hear a buzzing mechanical voice, like that of a thousand bees: "TURN BACK LEST YOU REVERSE THE ESSENTIALITY OF THE STASIS FOOLISH BEINGS OF DESTRUCTIVE FIRE AND ENTROPIC STORM." | ” |
— Six Ages 2: Lights Going Out |
Consequences[]
If you try to apologize to the dwarves for the crimes of Beren and Redalda, and they do not accept this apology, you will have to leave empty-handed and Mood will drop. Alternatively, perhaps if you have made a truce with the dwarves, they will respond more positively. They tell you to return five or fewer years before the end of the world and repeat the apology in order to receive proper aid. Your explorer may still find a small catch of gems and metals worth a small amount of goods. If it is the final few years of the game, the dwarves will indeed bolster you for the end game and wish you good luck for when the world ends.
If you petition the cube, the voice grows more tolerable and identifies you as "potential counterforces to Wakboth energy" before gifting a small cache of goods.
If you do not interfere with the cube, your expedition will be safe, but your clan members may feel disappointed that you've missed an opportunity to gain some benefit.
