Durbaddath—also known as the Lion Father, Brother Lion, or just the Lion—is the warrior god of the Ergeshites, who are usually called the Pure Goat People but are sometimes also known as the Lion Folk.

Ride Like the Wind[]

Durbaddath is first mentioned in Ride Like the Wind, but only ever as the warrior lion god of the Ergeshites.

Lore[]

Your clan circle is a bit confused as to how Durbaddath fits into the Ergeshite pantheon:

  • "I thought they were ruled by a goat king and queen. How does a lion warrior fit in?"
  • "Though they worship a goat and a lion, the Ergeshites are still a solar people."
  • "A lion warrior serving a goat chieftain? The predator makes common cause with the prey?"

Lights Going Out[]

In Lights Going Out, Durbaddath is mentioned by that name for the first time.

In response to accusations of cannibalism, Ergeshites may be tell you that the first law of Durbaddath says that he may eat people, but people may not.

Lore[]

  • "Though named for their ancestor Zarkos, their main gods are Durbaddath the Lion Father and Uryarda the Goat Mother."
  • "Is their lion god honorable?"
  • "They have surely abandoned their original gods, Durbaddath the Lion Father and Uryarda the Goat Mother, in favor of Cacodemon Chaos Cannibal." - about Ergeshite cannibals
  • "In times of great want, lions eat people. Ergeshites worship a lion. Their transformation makes perfect sense." - about Ergeshite cannibals
