Dialogue[]

The clan mourns the death of King Iverlantho. His body is burned, sending his spirit to light the dark clouds, in keeping with the funeral rite first used when Beren died. His <son/grandson> succeeds him as king, according to the laws laid down by Vingkot.

Like any event involving the crown, the death of the sometimes querulous king brings back a long-running factional dispute. The royalists want to revive true kingship. The <so-called> realists consider it unachievable in these terrible times.

  1. Promise to elevate <King> to the chieftainship.
(only possible if the new king is of age)
  2. Seek harmony between royalists and realists.
  3. Speak in favor of realism.
  4. Speak in favor of true kingship.
  5. Find someone to discreetly kill <King>.
(only possible if the new king is not a ring member)

Six Ages 2: Lights Going Out

Consequences[]

If you promise to elevate the heir to chieftainship, this may give the people hope as they watch Iverlantho's ashes rise.

Trying to seek harmony between royalists and realists risks backfiring, with clan mood decreasing as both sides grumble. If successful, however, Mood will improve. You also receive the United in Grief modifier.

If you choose to speak in favor of true kingship, your words may fall on deaf ears, depending on the skills of the speaker and the disposition of your clan.

Notes[]

The text of this event varies depending on the age of Iverlantho's successor, as well as other factors.
