Consequences[]
If you hit Teghern with a berserk attack and succeed, the Chaos god will be unprepared for a savagery exceeding his own, and fall quickly. The Sole Survivor will realise that in that moment they were guided by Elmal, the previous slayer of Teghern.
If you try to defeat him by drawing him away and wearing him down, but fail, the Sole Survivor will fall into a ravine, defeated.
If you defeat him with the values your clan has lived by, the Sole Survivor will turn your people's hope, tolerance, insight, and selflessness on him. If the Sole Survivor is a woman, they may then realize that they are Ginna Jar, the last companion needed for Orlanth to rise again and restore the world. Teghern begs for his life, but the truth of the Sole Survivor's new form will blast him to bits.
In either case, if you successfully slay Teghern here, his evil will be gone forever, unable to materialize again in the next iteration of the world. Conversely, if Teghern survives this duel, then he will follow you into the next world and Chaos will be strengthened during the final battle.
Killing Teghern at this point unlocks the Slew Teghern achievement.
