Dialogue[]
“ | A band of survivors hears of <Sole Survivor>'s exploits in the darkened world and gathers around <him/her> to declare <him/her> their <king/queen>. "Lead us in the final battle against Chaos, and we shall worship you as the last and only hope. Let us fight and die at your whim, o great <Sole Survivor>!" <He/She> finds their plaintive demand <more than a little tempting/profoundly upsetting>. <But he can't help noticing the children of Krarsht attached to each of them. These parasitic Chaos creatures bend minds toward obedience and betrayal.>

Consequences[]
If you say "I am as desperately lost as all of you," then the crowd may turn on the Sole Survivor, jeering and throwing dirt at them. The Sole Survivor may lose heart, questioning what the point was in restoring the world if this was how people behaved. Alternatively, the Sole Survivor may realize that dignity was a trap of the mind likely to lead you astray, as the worship of these wretches would have. If so, they will leave with a smile on their face.
If you discard the crown, the survivors gasp in horror before they fight each other over the crown while the Sole Survivor slips away. He or she may then remember the lives that had been lost to Chaos, and fall into despair. Or, they could wake up the next day still wearing the discarded crown: by having renounced it, they had proved their right to wear it.
If you say, "I shall lead you to victory," the Sole Survivor will indeed lead them to slay many enemies and into many great conquests, until, after a timeless time, all the warriors' lives were expended and the Sole Survivor was again left to wander alone.
If you wade into them, the cowards will scatter, allowing the Sole Survivor to continue, though they may feel as though they lost an opportunity.
