Dialogue[]

The last king of the Beren lineage burns on a pyre. The people lament. Your god-talkers remind you of a terrible fact. Although the king’s role had become purely ceremonial in recent years, the most important of those ceremonies took place at Sacred Time. In this rite the heir to the royal line renewed the dwarves’ debt to Beren, empowering the Stasis Rune protecting your fortifications. With this rite now impossible, your outer walls, citadel and palace will crumble at year’s end. Nothing will stand between you and the enemies who for generations have yearned to destroy the <Player> clan.
  1. Abandon Berenstead.
  2. Commit yourselves to the flame.
  3. Seek dwarf aid in devising a new fortress ritual.
  4. Invite other Berenethtelli clans to aid in your defense.
  5. Make your last stand here.

Six Ages 2: Lights Going Out

Consequences[]

Though your doom is assured from this point on, it is possible for you to decide the manner of your demise.

If you decide to abandon Berenstead, you will be taken to Loss: Berenstead Abandoned.

Similarly, deciding to commit yourselves to the flame will let you see Loss: Pyres.

And finally, if you make your last stand here, you will face your end in Loss: Last Stand.

Notes[]

Much like Orgovaltes Arrive in the Storm Age, if this event happens, you've effectively lost the game.

On the bright side, you will gain the Lineage Extinguished achievement. If you are trying to trigger the achievement, the easiest way to do so is to start a new game and have Iverlantho undertake the Humakt Draws the Line ritual, and then have him die fighting Zorak Zoran. Alternatively, you can have Venef assassinated during the Death of Iverlantho event.
