Dialogue[]

A weary band of Dara Happan travelers arrives at Berenstead with an offer. They come from the same empire your Rider ancestors migrated from many centuries ago. Seeking protection from advancing ice, they hid under a great dome constructed by the Emperor. These folk tell you that both the dome and glacier have been torn to bits by Chaos, forcing them to flee.

They wish to worship at your Elmal temple alongside your Elmal devotees. Their solar god, they say, is close kin to your faithful guardian deity. This worship will show him where they are, so that he may protect them on their journey. In return, he will grant you a blessing called the Sun Scope, aiding you against raiders for at least a year.

They call their god Antirius, which you assume is their name for Yelmalio, a rival sun god from obscure Rider myths.

  1. Agree.
  2. Ask instead for an offensive blessing.
  3. Attack them.
  4. Politely decline.
  5. Scornfully decline.

Six Ages 2: Lights Going Out

On repeat events, the opening portion is changed to "Another weary band of Dara Happan travelers arrives at Berenstead with an offer. Apparently they're from a different city than the last Dara Happan visitors."

Consequences[]

If your agree then you will have a choice of whether to gift the Dara Happans and by how much. If you do, there a chance that your efforts will aid them. If so, you will be granted a more powerful version of the Sun Scope blessing. It is possible you will get the stronger blessing regardless of gifting. If Beren and Redalda's Blessing aid you when dealing with outsiders, you gain 1 Magic.

If you ask instead for an offensive blessing, they reply "Yelmalio also wields a spear." You are given the option to give them a gift. A successful gift will aid them, resulting in their god finding them again and a stronger Yelmalio Spear blessing than expected.
