Dialogue[]

<Name>, a priestess of Erissa from the <Rider> clan, comes to address your chieftain and council. “The healing goddess blessed me with a vision,” she says. “The buying and selling of people as slaves greatly pains her. Admirably, your clan denies itself this cruel privilege. I ask that you join with me as I assemble a movement of like-minded clans to stand against the practice. We must not rest until every Rider renounces the slave trade.”
  1. Express quiet skepticism.
  2. Express quiet support.
  3. Make it known that you do not support her.
  4. Pray to Erissa for confirmation of <Name>’s vision.
  5. Spread her message.

Six Ages: Ride Like the Wind

Consequences[]

Keep in mind that your ancestors chose to abandon both slavery and the slave trade, and will expect you to uphold their choices. On the other hand, some of your neighbors' ancestors made the opposite choice, and they won't like being told to go against their traditions...

Expressing quiet support can please your people, who see it as doing the right thing without actively seeking trouble. However, <Name> will still mention your support of her, and you may face some retaliation from her enemies...

Praying to Erissa will reveal that she does sympathize with slaves, but also feels that this is a human matter. She's not going to tell you what to do here.

Spreading her message will please clans that, like you, do not sell slaves. It will also anger those that do, although you may manage to persuade one to give up the practice.

Notes[]

If you support <Name>, this event will be followed up in Slaver Pushback. If you do not, you will get Antislavery Pushback instead. In other words, no matter what you do here someone is going to come yell at you over it.
