Dialogue[]

Members of your clan come to you wearing odd, hungry expressions. "To survive," they propose, their words slurring, "we must learn to feast on human flesh. We suggest that we first devour some <Other Clan>s. They have few warrior and look supple and tender." Your horrified lorekeepers discover that all of those advocating this terrible course secretly broke into and ate deeply of the dried meat the Ergeshites traded us. "That is not goat meat," the lorekeepers say.
  1. Call on Chalana Arroy to heal them of this taint.
  2. Call on Urox to scourge them of this taint.
  3. Outlaw the cannibals.
  4. Execute the cannibals.
  5. Embrace cannibalism.

Six Ages 2: Lights Going Out

Consequences[]

If you call on Urox the scourge them of this taint, then you must first choose how much to sacrifice to aid the rite, and whether to boost it by risking the integrity of any potential shrine. Success will indeed scourge them from cannibalism, but leave them bloody and weakened as a consequence.

If you choose to embrace cannibalism, the people convince themselves that the gods will forgive them this crime if it's for survival. You must choose who to lead the attack on the other clan. Choosing a leader with high Combat skills is likely to result in a success, which means captives for the cooking pots. From now on, until the end of the year, you will have the Extra Food modifier. However, by the end of it, you will be confronted by the inevitable doom this path has set you on...

Notes[]

Compare Ergeshite Cannibals Warning, where another clan warns you of this having happened to them.

If you choose to embrace cannibalism, and open the Wealth Screen, your ring members may give you some unique advice, including the following:

  • "We have Extra Food because we embraced cannibalism."
  • "We should have adopted our unconventional food solution earlier."
  • "If it keeps people from starving, I will volunteer for the pot." - Chalana Arroy devotee
  • "No. We should not eat people." - Reda

Advice[]

  • "Kings may not become cannibals!" - Iverlantho
  • "Unspeakable!" - Venef
  • "Needless to say, embracing cannibalism will swiftly doom us." - Reda
  • "Killing members of our clan is kinstrife, a crime that, like cannibalism, invites Chaos." - Serestev/Lore expert
  • "If we choose to execute them, in these special circumstances, I just might be able to perform a severing rite removing them as our kin." - Korestene/Humakt devotee
  • "Chalana Arroy is dead, but we can still draw on the memory of her." - if Death of Chalana Arroy has happened.
  • "Removing the taint of terrible crimes is not precisely what Chalana Arroy does." - Chalana Arroy devotee
  • "In times of great want, lions eat people. Ergeshites worship a lion. Their transformation makes perfect sense."
  • "Dried fish from the Weeders is safe, as it cannot be mistaken for human meat."
  • "Banished people will likely come back to vex us as bandits."
  • "Ergeshites live on the other side of a far away mountain. We have no chance of finding and punishing the ones who did this to us."
  • "At least two dozen people ate that meat."
