Dialogue[]
“ | <Clan of Beren the Swift> emissaries bring dark tidings. Your Beren, Beren the Tall, has murdered theirs. After learning that he would not marry Redalda and that his childhood friend would, your Beren crept onto their clan lands, evading patrols. He confronted his friend, saying he should have never have pursued marriage to the woman he loved. Beren the Tall attacked Beren the Swift and, after an exchange of blows, crushed his skull with a rock. He ran off before <clan of Beren the Swift> warriors could intercept him. They loosed arrows, and may have hit him, but he escaped all the same.

Consequences[]
Paying compensation can patch things up relations-wise. Keep in mind that a hero like Swift deserves a higher than average weregild... This option can lead to the surviving Beren and Redalda fleeing their clans together to live as outlaws, their heroic destinies abandoned.
Outlawing Beren will offend the other clan, who see this as your clan disclaiming responsibility for their hero's death. They will then hunt down and kill Beren, and Redalda will die in the crossfire, leading to even greater strife between Rider and Ram.
If you disclaim responsibility, Swift's clan will take matters into their own hands and kill Beren--as well as Redalda, when she tries to intervene, just as above.
If you find him, you will have the choice of killing him or not. If you do, you will take him home to mourn, and Swift's clan will send gifts which you can then burn on his pyre; Redalda, at least, survives.. If you do not, Beren and Redalda will die, as above.
Notes[]
If Beren was clan chief when this occurred, the Clan Circle will discover that he removed the emblems of chieftainship from his belt before he left, leaving them in the clan hall.
"This is why Osara never married." — Clan Circle member.
