Dialogue[]

<Noble> performs an augury using the golden emblems that Beren owned when he was a Rider. "I sensed the presence of my goddess, Osara, and wished to know what she sought. She offered to make me the bane of the <Offending clan>, who offended her by destroying a shrine. Whenever you send me to lead a raid against them, our arrows will strike with furious accuracy." Though not exactly your enemies, the <Offending> do speak ill of you. Members of the ring find <Noble> on the way to your ritual ground, to ready to receive the blessing.
  1. "Before you do this, consider the diplomatic consequences."
  2. Forbid her from accepting the gift.
  3. Provide her with a sacrifice to thank Osara for the gift.
  4. Step aside and let her do it.

Consequences[]

If you tell her, "Before you do this, consider the diplomatic consequences," she may concede that now may not be the time to harden relations against them, and agree to not complete the ritual. She assures people that Osara will not angry at them for declining this boon. Mood may improve.

If you step aside and let her do it, the people may be happy for the blessing yet worried about the diplomatic consequences (in which case, Mood drops). Future raids against the <Offenders> will be led by this Osara worshiper, and she will gain "<Offender> Bane" as a nickname. You may receive the following text shortly after <Noble>'s first raid against the <Offending> clan:

In the wake of <Noble>'s glorious attack on the <Offenders>, they discovered that the goddess Osara has appointed her as their bane. They complained about this to their neighbors. Some of them sympathize, but others say, "that's what you get for destroying shrines."

Providing a sacrifice to thank Osara for the gift works similarly, perhaps with extra potency to the <Noble>'s abilities against the offending clan.
