Balurga is an earth and fertility goddess not familiar to the Rams of the Black Eel valley. They will sometimes refer to her as "Remaining Earth", because she still lives while the Orlanthi earth godess, Ernalda, died during the Great Darkness. Balurga incarnates both the Earth and Death runes and will bless the pastures and fields of those who sacrifice the living to her. She is the patron goddess of the Balurgans, newcomers to the valley by the time of the Chaos Age.

Balurga's husband is named Verhil. Verhil is also Balurga's son.
