The priests accuse them of polluting the shrine with strange spirit worship. “If what you were doing was benign,” they say, “you would have asked permission. Instead you skulk in the night!” For their part, the shamans say they were conducting a rite to stave off a coming darkness even worse than the one now cloaking the world. “We didn’t tell you about it because we must protect secrets of the great antler, or lose our magic!”
