AntlerSocietyShamans

Members of the Antler Society performing a ritualistic dance.

The Antler Society is a sect of Rider shamans active in the Black Eel valley. They are all male and all initiated as shamans at the same time, with the same tutelary spirit—a giant deer. Their practices are different enough from traditional Hyaloring shamanism to spur conflict, especially given the Antlers' insularity and secretiveness...

Lore[]

Your clan circle has the following to say about them:

  • "As a shaman myself, I still do not know what to make of the Antler Society."
  • "The Antlers claim that certain emblems in the story tent must now be understood differently."

  • "Coming generations will rue our contact with the Antler People."

Lights Going Out[]

By the time of the Chaos Age, the members of the Antler Society have been consumed by Chaos and transformed into the first broos in the Black Eel valley. Their legacy lives on not just in this dubious honor, but also as a cautionary tale for your clan.

They can be encountered by your clan by traveling through a tear into the Gods War on the map, see Other Side: Antler Society for the event.

Lore[]

Your clan ring has the following to say about them:

  • "Before Beren became king, a group called the Antler Society arose in our ranks. They were betrayers but not everyone wanted them sent away."
  • "The first broos in this valley started out as members of our clan, who called themselves the Antler Society. This was before Beren was king."
  • "There are old stories of the Antler Society, shamans who began by bargaining with forest spirits like this one but ended up dealing with darker powers."
  • "The way we dealt with the Antler Society, before Beren was king, affects our chances against broos now."
  • "Beren is often blamed for early decisions concerning the Antler Society, but he was young then, and others were at fault."
