Alynxes, also called shadowcats, are a species of cats domesticated by the Rams. They are helpful in hunting rats and other pests from their storehouses. Yinkin is their god.
Ride Like the Wind[]
Alynxes are rarely seen in Ride Like the Wind, but the legendary Ram warlord Arandanth and his gang can be seen with several alynxes in the ritual Ekarna Four Trader.
Redalda can also be seen introducing alynxes to Beren's clan during the Wedding Victory epilogue.
Lights Going Out[]
Alynxes are a slightly more common sight in Lights Going Out, typically lounging in the background. For example, during the prolog, Brolarulf is seen with one, and they come out to observe the worshipers of their god, the Yinkini, whenever they pay your clan a visit.
